April 2008 - New Wines, Fun Events! In case you haven't heard yet, we just celebrated our 2 year anniversary. Thanks to all of our guests, volunteers, and entertainers that made our recent anniversary celebration a huge success. Highlighting the event was the release of our latest bottling...2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007 Viognier, and 2007 Pinot Gris. In addition, the Official Greensboro Bicentennial wines produced by Stonefield Cellars were released to the public (see below for more details). April and May will be full of fun, and we start the festival season with the Greensboro Bicentennial Heritage Festival on April 13th and 14th, followed by Taste Carolina Wine Festival the end of this month and then Salute! The Official Greensboro Bicentennial Wines
These very special commemorative wines have been produced to help you toast to Greensboro's Bicentennial. These wines are now available to the public and can be purchased at the winery, several local restaurants, and few wine shops. Locations where you can purchase these wines: Stonefield Cellars Winery, Rivertwist (see below), and GSO Wine Warehouse (see below). In addition, we will be selling these official Bicentennial wines near the intersection of Elm and Washington streets, downtown Greensboro during the Heritage Festival on April 13th and 14th (see http://www.greensboro200.com/gso_cel_offic.html for more information about the festival). Bistro 150, located in Oak Ridge Commons shopping center in Oak Ridge (intersection of NC Hwys 68 and 150), has added our wines to their wine list, including several of our sweet wines that pair well with their fabulous desserts.
Longhorn Steakhouse, located at 6012 Landmark Center Blvd. in Greensboro is now carrying Synchronicity. Paired with one of their fine steaks - mmmmm, it doesn't get any better folks!

Why can't you find our wines in the grocery stores? Our wines are currently being sold primarily from our tasting room. A visit to our tasting room will provide you with the complete wine experience and assures that the wines you take home meet or exceed your expectations. However, for those of you that have enjoyed our wines at the winery or at off-site events such as festivals but live too far to purchase directly from us on a regular basis, our wines are also available for shipment to you through http://www.thewinepalate.com. This is also a great option for being able to share our wines with friends and family that live out of state.
Stonefield Cellars ® wins more awards!
2007 NC State Fair - Stonefield Cellars garnered three bronze awards for 2005 Chardonnay, 2005 Synchronicity, and 2006 Symphony.
The Indy International Wine Competition yielded two awards - Synchronicity and Peach both received a bronze!
Results from the 2007 3rd Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition -
Stonefield Cellars ® won a Silver award for Synchronicity® and a Bronze for Illumination.
Results from the 2007 Blue Ridge Wine Festival Competition are in - Stonefield Cellars ® took top honors with Synchronicity® winning the only GOLD medal awarded!

Here's a great way to enjoy wine in the summer:
Cold...............
Sangria - NEW RECIPE !!
2 Bottles Stonefield Cellars Strawberry Wine
1 Bottle Stonefield Cellars Peach Wine
1 bottle of Stonefield Cellars Merlot
3 small oranges (sliced, rind removed)
8 oz Maraschino cherries w/juice
1 cored and sliced (in rings) fresh pineapple
Mix all ingredients in a large container. Let fruit marinate in wine 1 hour at room temperature. Chill before serving.
To serve: Pour 1/2 cup of 7Up or Sprite over ice, top with Sangria. Garnish each serving with a quartered slice of the remaining orange.
And if you come to the tasting room, I'll give you a recipe for Wine Cake! MMMmmmmm.....
